The final round of betting in a game of poker is called a showdown. If a player is all-in prior to the final betting round, he is the winner of the pot. If not, the pot goes into a side pot. A pair of five aces beats five pairs of the same suit, but a pair of queens or kings wins the pot.

In the highest possible hand, a straight flush is a pair of aces. The same applies to threes. Three-of-a-kinds are two pairs of one suit. Similarly, a straight flush, which is five cards of the same suit, is a five-card sequence. If a player has four aces, a pair of threes, or a flush, it is the highest possible hand.
